Hello
I am a novice bee keeper.
I have a colony which appears to have successfully overwintered in a temporary polystyrene nuc hive.
I have purchased a flow hive starter kit and have it almost ready for use.
My idea once temperatures are suitable is to put the brood chamber on top of the nuc (making a suitable flat wooden transition piece) in the hope that the queen and cony will migrate upwards.
The frame size in the nuc is not compatible with the flow hive.
I understand the limitations in moving the colony and don’t need to do this.
I’m interested to know what those with experience would advise
Thanks
Hello and welcome to the Flow forum!
You might find things a lot easier if you just transfer the frames directly into the Flow hive. If they are British National frames, you can adapt them very quickly to Langstroth. The search tool at the upper right will give some links on how to do that.
