UK Beeks and Asian Hornet

This came through today from my Solihull Bee Club (SBKA) local club from WBKA (Warwickshire Bee Keeping Club) a region of BBKA.

Asian Hornets have been Found and identified in Gloucestershire by National Bee Unit

There is a strategy in place. If you think you see an Asian Hornet try to photograph only kill it if it is and Asian Hornet.

I saw a hornet for the first time at Baddersley Clinton a couple of weeks ago harassing the gardens’ bee hive. I reported it to the gardeners to tell the apiarist and head gardener - I think it was a European one but didn’t get a close look

The nest has been found in an " I don’t believe it tree"
Lots of head scratching going on now I expect
