Hi, anyone know what this stuff is at bottom of the flow frame? Looks and feels like parmesan cheese.
What do the frames look like? Wax moth larvae?
I was just in there. Frames are fine. The bees are just starting to fill them all with nectar.
Were those frames used last year?
No, first time for them this year, installed them in April.
My guess would be wax. But it’s odd to see it piled up in there like that. What does it smell like? Did you by chance prepare the frames by rubbing wax onto them?
I did rub wax on the frames, all of them, both sides. You know come to think of it, it IS the wax I rubbed on but finely grated. I think you solved the mystery Eva, thanks!
