I am delighted that it worked for you @Eva. I have done it a few times over the years, and it really does help when the bees are slow to cap full frames. However, as others above have said, it certainly isn’t standard practice, and I wouldn’t generally follow the advice that @eweyfam was given.
Nevertheless, it is always good to have extra boxes. You never know when you are going to need one!
