Winter set up in Michigan

New to bee keeping have my first flow hive.

Have two deep boxes did not put on supers this year because they really didn’t take to it when with beeswax on it. Maybe ot wasn’t thick enough. Then I decided I would just let them build up for winter.

This was my set up with super on but then removed and put a 2nd deep brood box in its place. I’m assuming I will need a candy tray of sorts that will fit so I can feed patties and a sugar water or what about sugar and hive alive supplement. What do I do with the base? It’s sitting on flow stand so really has the plastic tray and the metal screen only. Seems like they will get cold. It’s Michigan.

Do I just put the flow entrance reducer on? Don’t I need a mouse guard? What do you suggest to insulate? Do I need to add a quilt box? Flow doesn’t provide any of those items I get it but it’s annoying because then I have to find other manufacturers products that will fit.

Any help and descriptions would be so much appreciated.
