I would not be one bit surprised, considering the size of the grooves they chew out of wood. Only a few days ago someone asked me what made those deep grooves in honey supers & frames that are left abandoned & wax moth allowed to do their job of breaking down a dead hive.

Wax moth should never be a problem as long as beekeepers are vigilant & don’t neglect hives & leave them to the elements.
