A talk inside The Hive

Kew Gardens in London hosted a series of short talks by Stu Anderson, co-inventor of the Flow Hive, yesterday.

For those of you who haven’t heard about it The Hive is a 17m (55ft) high ‘multi sensory experience’ that simulates a bee hive. The source of the sound is taken from a real beehive, so when the sun comes out, the sound gets louder. Quiet amazing.

To hear Stu talk about the personal story behind invention, the crowd-funding campaign and problems they encountered, was absolutely fascinating, and almost a surreal experience listening to it ‘inside’ The Hive.

Kew Gardens is always a really interesting place to visit, but if Flow Hive make it back to the UK next year, I can recommend it being a date for your diary.
