Bee space in the flow hive?

Hi All, I’m doing a bee keeping course at the minute that is talking about bee spaces in the hive. I was wondering if the flow hive has a height of 242mm and the box it sits in is 245mm high- does that not mean there is no bee space? For reference i was looking here for the dimensions of the flow frame

and the height of the box from here https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0435/5201/4494/files/Modify_a_Langstroth_Box_Manual.pdf?ref=support.honeyflow.com&v=1600394808

appreciate any thoughts

Hi Ed, welcome to the forum.

Bee space is not so much the internal dimensions of the box, but the space between the combs, as well as between the combs & the sides of the box, including top & bottom. In the natural world they create their own bee space when building their combs. All beekeeping equipment is & should be designed to accommodate the bees natural bee space. The Flow hive dimensions accommodate the bees natural bee space.
