Hello , every one just wanted to pop on and introduce myself. I am a new bee keeper with the flow hive 2 Araucaria7 frame . My husband bought it last September but with the weather here in England mostly raining lol I have only just put it up . I will post pictures of hive once the paint has dried.

When you paint the hive paint all the edges as well as the outsides. Water will sit in the gap of the edges of the boxes and that as well as any joints is where the timber will begin to rot. No harm putting on an extra coat of paint. I do my hives in a quality water based paint as it doesn’t chip when you use the hive tool levering the hive apart as happens with enamel paint.
