Is this normal in the hive

Hi
Just wondering this is our 2nd honey harvest from our bee hive. We inspected the hive and there were a good 5 trays like this is this normal? There wasn’t a lot of of honey like last time either.

Mine looked like that and no real nectar was present either I began feeding mine. They have had no honey to share, we started in October. Raglan, Vic

Hi Kylie, I see a lot of capped brood about to emerge and I didn’t see much of any earlier stage ie larvae (too hard to see new eggs from here ). Did you see any open brood or eggs? There’s also a queen cell along the bottom of the frame, which is where these are found when the colony is getting ready to swarm.

It would be helpful to add your region or town to your profile, since advice will vary greatly depending on the climate and seasonal outlook this time of year.

Hi Kylie, welcome to the forum. I agree with Eva, what part of Au are you located" It’s best to include that in your profile. I also see that queen cell, but it looks like the remainder of an old one.

I see one sacbrood, which is one disease we need to be aware of.

I also see a lack of honey above the brood, which would be troubling for me. I agree to feed them, at least until they start to store honey in those areas.
