Oregon, Stayton

Hello Everyone,

So I bought my flow hive a few years back and put it away because I just could not get to it. And now I have someone helping me set it up and I can’t find my key to set the hive. Is there anyone near Salem Oregon who would let me use a key? Just until I get a new one. Thanks.

Hi & welcome to the forum. My thoughts are. “how advanced is the colony”. When do you anticipate actually using the flow key? Depending on when you put the package or nuc into the hive, you still need to make sure that the brood box is relatively full before adding the honey super.

If there was a delay in shipping, you could allow the bees to access the roof, or even the empty super, for a short period until your key arrives.

Thanks I was able to manually close the bee combs and now I can wait to order a new key thank you very much for the advice. Lori

Go through your packaging really carefully if you still have it all, I think the key is tucked away pretty stealthily in the box.

I had my box stored for years and look it out of the box. Thanks anyway
