I am about to start my beekeeping journey however I am having some trouble deciding between purchasing Saskatraz or Italian bees. I am going to be an urban beekeeper so I would like a type that isn’t prone to swarming and can resist high temperatures (I live in a very hot climate). I would be very grateful for some advice.
Italian. Saskatraz are good in cooler climates, but Italians excel in warmer ones. They are very hungry though, so you may have to feed them during long nectar dearths, which are common in hot, dry climates, like yours and even mine!
