Swapping from solid to screened bottom board

Hi there,

I’m thinking of swapping from a solid to a screened bottom board on one of my hives. Any advise or tips on how to do it ?

one of the reasons I want to do it for is SHB management, the other hives with screen bottom boards have beetle trays and the bees do a great job of pushing them down the bottom and into the tray where i have put little it of vegetable oil.

Just do it. Set the boxes off, remove the old bottom, put the new bottom on the stand and restack the boxes… nothing to it.

Your on the right track, move on with the project of replacement of bottom board.
