That is a good question. They don’t appear to have any obvious antennae. Those dark spots on the wings might be a good clue in identifying them.

I know in Australia we have nearly 2,000 species of native bee & around 12,000 species of native wasps.

This small black Lesser Dung Fly (Sepsis fulgens)
