Hi & nice work Daz, It’s definitely not too early. I’ll be checking my hives with the view of splitting the strong ones towards the end of July, which is not all that far away.

Thanks @JeffH
They’re up for sale. I have 2 at the moment that’s is mine, thinking of making 2 more for my use.

I have one strong hive and one having issues. I’ll have to see how the weaker one goes.

Hi Daz, fixing up the hives with issues is my first priority when starting the splits, which is what I’m sure you’ll be doing…

It was hard to get out of bed this morning. Winter IS here. Peter48 used to say that we only get 6 weeks of winter up here, however I strongly disagree with him. In his defense, he did move up from snow country.

It doesn’t make any sense, however the bees know what they’re doing. It’s funny that I’m splitting colonies during the daytime, on account that bees are getting ready to swarm, while I’m lighting my fire at nighttime.

I agree @Dawn_SD he does beautiful work.

Thanks @JeffH

I’ll pick a warm day to do a check on the weak hive.
See what’s happening
