Was wondering how everyone keeps their lids from sticking on the smoker or prevent it? Thanks in advance.
They need to be cleaned out from time to time as the carbon builds up.
Other than that, yours may have suffered a hit that has distorted the lid or body.

If a little stuck you can use your hive tool to open by leveraging it against the bellow’s.

That’s exactly what I do.

Once finished your work with smoker, open the lid as long as the smoker is still hot.
and keep it open until it has cooled down. As long as the coal-tar is warm you can open smoothly.
When cold, residual from tar and coal peels off when open and close few times.
If necessary brush from time to time with an iron brush to remove the tar from the lid closure region.
