Welcome to the forum, Mike.
Nice looking apiary.
There’ll be ups and downs, but you’ve entered a world of unending learning and fascination. I don’t think it’s possible for anyone to know everything about bees, although you might run across some that think they do. There are so many wonderful teachers in bee land that you don’t need to restrict yourself to self proclaimed experts.
In this forum you’ll find excellent advice from very knowledgeable and experienced beekeepers from around the globe. Many questions have been asked before, so you may find your answers in a search. Don’t hesitate to reach out here, though. You’ll get to know Dawn and Jeff with their sage advice. Your success is our success.
Hopefully, you’re not overly sensitive to stings. I get stung many times per year and am certain it’s good for my health. Others, unfortunately have life threatening reactions, so it’s important to know where you fit in that range.
Most of all, have fun.
Cheers,
Mike
Thanks aussiemike. Appreciate your words of encouragement. Ive been reading about beekeeping since last summer, joined the local beekeeping association, just finished beekeeping classes, and have a mentor. Only thing missing are bees which hopefully will be in the next 2 weeks. Going with a nuc.
I’ve created a perinneal pollinating garden with white and micro clover for ground cover and planted 60 native plants that attract both honeybees and butterflies. This is becoming quite the rabbit hole
