I’m a very new bee keeper. I have a wild hive on my property and set up a flow hive brood box close by. It took a couple of years but a swarm moved in in March and are very busy. There was a lot of bearding so I placed a Queen excluder and the flow super. Thousands of bees went into the super but they never deposited any honey. I noticed the bearding decreased and when I inspected it today the super just has a few bees. It looks like they swarmed. I’m pretty patient so I don’t mind not getting honey quickly but I didn’t expect the swarming so soon after the colony was started
Hi Frank, welcome to the forum,
Jeff asked me to tell you to do a brood inspection, and look for queen cells in the brood.
Can you upload some photos of what you find.
