Hello, I’m starting up 2 hives again next year. I am wondering if anyone in NC puts a 1in hole entrance for the bees in the roof of the flow hive? Flow doesn’t give advice on this, although they did say that it could encourage traffic over the flow frames which would leave scent. I took that as it could be encouraging for adoption of the frames. Any experienced bee keepers in NC have an opinion on top entrances?
Hello, I’m just getting started in the bee keeping world. I just ordered my Flow Hive and should receive it by mid June. I know it probably to late in the season to produce anything but what do you recommend to help build up my hive for next year?
Is this still an active site? I am thinking about getting a Free Flow Hive and am new to bee keeping, so I would like to see a hive in action and see if it is as easy as it is stated. I live in Cameron, NC. Thanks!!
Welcome to the forum!! The act of beekeeping is the same no matter what hive you use. The only difference is the way you extract honey. It is a lot of learning and work but it’s absolutely amazing to watch them grow.
