I was about to harvest a full FlowHive but found the frames won’t split and the plastic that is lifted with the metal rod has perished. The FlowHive is about 8 years old and my concern is I have 10 others not far behind. They have always been well maintained (mostly by the bees) and never exposed to UV. I think the principle of the FlowHive is terrific, but now disappointed and worried, given the cost outlay.
I would send a message with photos to customer support at info@honeyflow.com. They may take a day or two to reply (check your spam folder), but they are usually extremely helpful and supportive. Worth a try?

I did just that and very happy to report that the FlowHive people identified the issue and are replacing the frames. This was done without me making such a request; I just reported the issue. So, excellent customer service and product support.
