Secondhand flow hive/frames for sale, UK

8 frame flow hive, 12 flow frames, 2 flow keys & tubes etc for sale together or seperately. all used, stained, marked with wax, propolis etc.
frames have spent time in disused hives & in the shed & show signs of mould & wax moth (trails, not damage obviously) & will need a clean. also 2 of them have popped apart, all the bits there but i’ve yet to find a couple of the steel cables that hold them together. also lost the bit of wood that covers the keyhole in the flow super, won’t be hard to replace, but i’ve not got the original. open to offers. i’m in york, uk, so postage will become more of an issue the further you are from there…

Kindly mention price too

well…i’d take £300 for the lot, plus postage. just realised i should’ve specified thats an 8 normal frame hive, so takes 6 flow frames. got extra to use in modified brood boxes.

Is this still available? Willing to pay shipping to USA

yes, cool. do you have shipping preferences, or should i just check out what the options are? never sent anything this big internationally before…

Could you post some pictures?
Cheers

i think this is all the bits of the actual hive/frames. flow keys & draining tubes aren’t shown, but are here & in good condition, some of them haven’t even been used.

Hi Rich. Have you sold this yet? Pete

no, all still here. a couple of people were sounding interested, then it all went quiet…

Thanks for getting back. I am new to all this but I want to give it a go before I buy the flowhive 2.
I think the photos do not do it justice… but its second hand .. what do they expect?
If you can get back to me with your best price and the delivery cost to london..N225QB that will be great.
Thank you

cheers. bear with me! haven’t done a lot of posting big things, i’ll check the options. if you’re thinking to do a flowhive trial, should i assume you just want the hive & its frames, key etc rather than the whole lot? cos those extra flow frames are a good chunk of the cost, plus a load of extra bulk to send, & wouldn’t do you much good until you’ve either bought or converted another hive to put them in..

Yes that is correct.. just looking to try a produce some honey with the hive and the frames.. Thank you

hi. sorry about the delay. £300 is my best price for the lot, but if you want to leave out the spare frames i’d take £250. looks like shipping might only be about 15 quid or so, if you want to go with that i’ll try & finalise details with someone. in which case, any delivery constraints, safe places to leave, times you can or can’t do etc? always more faff than it looks like it’ll be getting things delivered! also, daft question possibly, but have you already got bees? if not i can easily stick you a bit of old brood comb in, pretty likely to attract a swarm, which then saves another expense. plus i reckon is a lot more fun!

Hi Rich. Thanks for the info. I am going overseas this weekend.. I will need to get back top you when I get back..
Just to make sure.. is this what I will be buying: ‘Flow Hive Classic’ as in the photo? Flow Hive Classic | The perfect starter beehive - Flow Hive UK

not as pretty as the ones in your link! but yes, the original flow hive, its the 6 frame version (flow frames are fatter than normal ones, so an 8 frame langstroth hive takes 6 of them, & a 10 frame takes 7), & will comprise a floor, brood box, flow super with 6 flow frames & roof. plus flow key & all the little tubes you need to plug in for harvesting honey, crown board, floor insert etc.
i seem to remember theres a bit of wood missing which you take off to put the key in, but it is literally just an oblong bit of wood, i can just cut you a replacement. it’ll be larch rather than whatever wood the rest of the hive is made from, but i lived in a larch boat for 6 years, its pretty weatherproof wood.
worth noting i’ve not got any normal frames spare (just used them all on swarms!) so you’d need to get 8 langstroth deep frames too. i’m pretty sure it didn’t come with them in the first place.
cheers
