Looking to purchase a package or Nuc for our new FlowHive 2. Is it too late in the season to buy bees?

Hello and welcome to the Flow forum! 
This is not the best time of year to buy bees. Optimal would be March or April. There is very little nectar flow after July, and your new colony would struggle. There may be flowers, but it is hot and dry at this time of year, so the flowers don’t produce nectar.
The exception would be if you were able to buy a complete hive from a retiring beekeeper. I would suggest joining a local bee club, and see what might be available. You can always get your name on a list there for a nucleus for next year.
