Bees outside of observation window

The past few times I have opened both side windows for observation, I have found bees waiting for me. They appear to be accessing the exterior from within the honey super. Is this a normal occurrence or should it be completely sealed. All steps were followed during assembly. Thanks in advance!

Could you post an image? Mine sit with practically no gap and practically touching the viewing window plastics. Can’t picture how they could possibly get through as the plastic is bigger than the viewing window and secured from the inside.

It is not normal. The frames are probably not sitting right and/or the screw at the back needs to be lengthened. Some people have had some issues with the assembly and spacers that also caused this to happen.

Pictures would help diagnose.
